More Pictures

Hi ,

Just a few more pictures

Nov, 30 update

Hi,

Last day of the camp. It was a cold one. Another good day of pole training and free skiing. I am really surprised to how they took what they learned free skiing and used in the gates. As you know it is sometimes hard to do that.

We had Yaki Niku for dinner! It was very good!

We leave for Kamloops airport at 7 am. 2 of the skiers must return to Kelowna with me and stay the night. That will be fun too.

Well, that is all for tonight. I am looking forward to seeing you all next weekend!

Bye for now,

Doug

The pictures are of the wish bone of the turkey we ate last week. You dry the bone out for a day, 2 people hold it with thier pinky fingers, and pull. Whom ever has the largest piece wins and
gets their wish. the other picture was part of a jump park under the chair lift, The other from the top of the mountain.

We had sashami , tempura and age, tonight. It was nice and light after all of those beef meals.

Nov, 26 Update

Hello,

Today was the first day of GS skis for the main group. Yujin used my SL skis.

The Ski area was not crowded today. We had a great day of free skiing.

So our stance is Hip to shoulder width apart. During all phases of the turn. Before the edge change we move our hips up and forward towards the direction we want to go. As we do that our body and legs crossover and we lock both ankles inside the next turn. When we are locking the ankles in at the same time we are of course shifting our balance over to the next outside ski. Our body is inside the ski and we slightly pause to pressure the ski. If our line is on the right track that is.

SO the guys are getting tired!! We have been skiing hard all days, and doing many kinds of different drills.

More tomorrow.

Doug

The extra picture of Makaiya was from the summer. It was cute so I added it!!!!

The Steaks were thick and Oishii!!! Definitely on the rare side.

Everyone is relaxing now.

Bye Bye!

Nov, 25 Update

Hello!!

It is Sunday here in Canada and the ski area was busy with early season skiers. I was surprised to see how many skiers were out. I think there are many Americans up here because the US had a holiday from Thursday.

We also watched The Austrian B team train. The run they are on is very challenging. Lots of rolls and terrain changes.

The group is progressing well. All have understood new points of view! That is the first step to moving ahead. Letting go of old ways of doing something.

Last night was turkey, tonight steak from the BBQ.

Yujin arrived after a delay at Narita. He did make it safely though.

More later.

Nov,24 Update

Hello Everyone,

Day 1 at Sun Peaks was great! We used a run called 5 mile. The same as last year for those who were here then. There is less snow, but the coverage is pretty good. A few small racks are around, but nothing too bad. The run is very long and easy terrain. Yes, Great for basic training!

We were focusing on basic stance(hip width apart) Movement up with the hips before the edge change, next doing the edge change and at the same time locking the ankle in side. All understood what I wanted and were able to do it. Not every time but we will pattern it more tomorrow.

Tonight is Turkey night! It looks good! I will send more pictures tomorrow.

Bye for now.

I have been getting ready for the camp at Sun Peaks. I talked to a friend that coaches up there. She said the skiing is very good at the top of the mountain. We may have to down load because they still need more snow at the base.

I have new boots that I have had to tune up. hey are all ready to go.

I will give you up dates to how the camp goes.

Bye for now.

Nov, 18 Update

Hello Everyone,

I have been fighting a cold the past few days.

The good news is that there is snow in the hills and the Accel Camp at Sun Peaks is on for next week. The Austrians have been training up there and will be there till the 25th of November. It will be fun and educational to see them ski.

So last week I played golf and shot my best round of the year 79. My Boss gave me 2 free rounds of golf passes. So my handi cap is down to 9.

I see that Sugadaira is cool and snow is falling . That is Exciting! I am looking forward to seeing you all again and helping you all ski faster.

Bye for now.

Nov,11 update

Hello Guys!!

I hope you all had a good weekend.

So in Canada it is Remembrance Day. There are ceremonies in every city to give recognition to veterans that have fought in wars. To give thanks for our freedom! Tomorrow is a holiday for all people. we all where poppy badges on our backs to show all that we are thinking about those points.

So in Kelowna there is a ski shop that bought a new Wintersteger ski tuning machine. I had 2 pairs done . They look good. I also tuned up my new boots. I am already for the upcoming season. Lets all dance for lots of snow this season.

Bye for now.
