Thanks for the great weekend!

It was a good weekend! The snow was a little unstable but the group did very well in it!

Good luck to all those in races this upcoming week! I believe in all of you! Picture what you want and go for it. Be aggressive!!!!

We have many racers here this week! Thanks again for choosing Accel for your training needs! I am looking forward to a busy and productive week!

GS update!

It was a tough day today. I set an extremely challenging GS course for the group. They did well for the set but quickly fell into low mood. Sometimes the sets just don't ski well! Sometimes you cannot ski a perfectly clean run. It is a fight from start to finish. You must just race your line aggressively and do not give up!

Mid week update!

First thing I would like to say is thank you to Miho Takasawa for such incredible support to our racers. She reads many e-mails and organizes our time schedule so precisely! Super effort! We are all so busy so at times our gratitude goes unsaid. Of course thank you all for choosing Accel for your training needs! And we miss you Ono San! We hope you can return soon!

We trained SL today. I set 2 challenging courses. The group did well with the line. Usually they skied too direct, but did start to ski a higher line.

Monday Update

Hi friends!

It was a fantastic weekend. Great training at Sugadaira. The group really skied well! I am proud of all of you! Great job to those of you that were racing too!

It is nice to see the mix of your solid skiing with better line interpretation! Much better power down the fall line!

Today we trained on #3. From the top. Had to adjust the line a bit higher because of the steeper slope. By the end of the session the group was hitting the line nicely!

Bye for now.

Feel good story!

Hi!

So this morning before riding the bus one of the guys dropped their I phone in the snow with out knowing. We trained as usual and he later realized he dropped it. He had the find my phone app on so he had an approximate idea where it was. BUT while we were skiing Matsura San plowed the front road usual. (lots of new snow fall) The phone was some where in the snow bank. HUGE snow bank! After skiing and the video meeting the racer and I went to search for it. We dug for around an hour. Matsura San came later with his small excavator. We told him the general area where to dig and after around 15 minutes of digging he found it! Amazing!!!! The racer was so happy! Me too! Thanks Matsura San!!!!!

See you this weekend !

Positive Leadership

Hi all,

Last night one of our racers shared with me his ill feelings toward his home prefecture team. Coaches and older team mates tell him to wax their skis, move bags for them, and express anger at him for no reason. Not knowing what words or actions will set them off! COME ON!!!! What age are we living in here! It is our responsibility as coaches to encourage all around us to be better and build confidence not crush it! BE AN ENCOURAGER! Be a positive influence and a safe person to be around!

Good luck to all racing this weekend! Focus on your own race! I believe in you all!

Monday Update

Hi All,

I had an interesting conversation with one of our racers! He said, "Doug , you sure do now update very often. I wish you would, I enjoy reading them!" Thanks for the comment!!!!

Moving forward with my update! Today was cancelled due to strong wind and heavy SNOW!!!!!!!!!! Great for the Japanese ski industry!!!!! I am so thrilled! I hope because of it many of the scheduled races will start as planned! You have all trained so hard and deserve the chance to perform!

It was a busy weekend here this past weekend! Thanks for coming! It was super great training! Sunny skies and hard snow! As well as solid skiing from you all! Great work!

WEEK DAY UPDATE!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the great weekend! It was very busy and we appreciate your patience and focus while waiting to ski!

The conditions here are great for training. Hard ,icy snow ! Smooth groomed runs! Nice!

If possible please try to book your training time a least 3 days in advance. 1 week would be better though! This gives us time to book lanes! Thanks for your understanding!

See you soon!
