Sugadaira update

Hi! It was a good week. We started pole training from Monday. We did do basic training mixed in with that though.

So far just #4,5,6 are open.

Accel has three new Tea Clipper staff this year. From Left to right. Tama, Takahiro, and Chihiro!
They have been very help full already. We welcome all guests and aim for a fun and very success full season.

Bye for now.

Dec,20 Update

Hello,

What a great morning! We are skiing GS today. The condition are very good. Tsubakuro has the Champion course open that is runs 4,5,6. The free ski run is also open and they are working on 1,2,3. I am pushing the ski area to use #6 for the weekend. Free skiing and GS gates are planned.

We have all been working hard on doing basic position training. I am happy to see how all want to improve in this area. Which you should. Once you all can do this you will be able to ski faster in the course and have a bigger chance to win.

The pictures are from Canada. Makaiya went to an out side Birthday party.

Bye for now.

Dec, 14 Update

Hi!!

It was a great week for basic training . All that came did very well!

It was a warm week and it even rained yesterday. It did cool down a little bit, so the snow was a little icy.

They were also able to make snow today. That is very much needed.

I am looking forward to another weekend of basic training!

See you all soon!

Sugadaira update

Hi!

I am settling in here. Getting some tune up work done and so on.

It has been great skiing during the week of course not many other people on the hill. What snow there is , is very good! And just so you know it is suppose to cool off for the weekend so sharpen up those skis.

I am very happy with everyones drive to get the basics grooved into their technique. That is what we want. Lets all expect great results for the season. Expect you will win! Or finish in the top ten.
Picture me as your fairy god father and ask me what you want and I will give it to you!!!! Just ask! I believe in every one of you!

See you soon

First weekend update

Hello Every one!

I was very surprised to see over 20 people here for the first weekend! It was good training. We all worked on Basic position on the skis. Stacking, edging from the ankles, light pressure. All pretty much accomplished the goal of stacking! It was pretty to see!! Great job to those who came. All drills were done at very slow speed.. That is very important for position correction!

It is also nice to see the friendly staff of Zonntaggu! I am looking forward to watching you all improve to new levels of ski racing! Believe and see your new found success!

Bye for now.

More Pictures

Hi ,

Just a few more pictures

Nov, 30 update

Hi,

Last day of the camp. It was a cold one. Another good day of pole training and free skiing. I am really surprised to how they took what they learned free skiing and used in the gates. As you know it is sometimes hard to do that.

We had Yaki Niku for dinner! It was very good!

We leave for Kamloops airport at 7 am. 2 of the skiers must return to Kelowna with me and stay the night. That will be fun too.

Well, that is all for tonight. I am looking forward to seeing you all next weekend!

Bye for now,

Doug

The pictures are of the wish bone of the turkey we ate last week. You dry the bone out for a day, 2 people hold it with thier pinky fingers, and pull. Whom ever has the largest piece wins and
gets their wish. the other picture was part of a jump park under the chair lift, The other from the top of the mountain.

We have one more day of free skiing then the last 2 days we will ski gates.

We had sashami , tempura and age, tonight. It was nice and light after all of those beef meals.

Nov, 26 Update

Hello,

Today was the first day of GS skis for the main group. Yujin used my SL skis.

The Ski area was not crowded today. We had a great day of free skiing.

So our stance is Hip to shoulder width apart. During all phases of the turn. Before the edge change we move our hips up and forward towards the direction we want to go. As we do that our body and legs crossover and we lock both ankles inside the next turn. When we are locking the ankles in at the same time we are of course shifting our balance over to the next outside ski. Our body is inside the ski and we slightly pause to pressure the ski. If our line is on the right track that is.

SO the guys are getting tired!! We have been skiing hard all days, and doing many kinds of different drills.

More tomorrow.

Doug

The extra picture of Makaiya was from the summer. It was cute so I added it!!!!
