Monday update!

Hello!

Oh , that was a challenging day! The snow was not groomed very well, plus the snow was soft from natural snow fall, and they made snow on part of our hill too! Ugh!!!! Because the hill was so rough many had a hard time really working the ski. Not super sharp skiing today. Should be better tomorrow!

Thanks to everyone who came out !

See you soon!

Sunday training !

Hi Everyone!

The natural snow has arrived here! Amazing what a couple of days of snow fall can do!

Training conditions are soft, and rutty! Tough on the guys with 35 m radius skis. Good to make them stay over top of their skis though.

I am very happy with the groups over all focus. Great job ! Lets keep it going.

Looks like a good day for weather.

See you out there!

Warm Day!

It was warm today!

The snow was not the best! Once we had a few runs it and slipped it a few times it was half decent.

I am proud of the teams effort! They are improving everyday!

We have another day of GS and SL tomorrow.

See you soon.

Gate training at Tsubakuro

Hi all!

It was a good start to the season at Tsubakuro. The snow was a little unstable but still safe! There was only one set on #4 for today and tomorrow. There is limited snow still. The free ski run should be open soon though. I will get you up to date when there is any change.

Bye for now!

Rossignol kick off Event

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I went to another ski area in Nagano. I took part in The Rossignol kick off event. It was great to see all of the Rosssignol team! Also met many ski shop owners from all over Japan!

The Equipment has a very different look! Especially the boots! The snow condition was a little rough so it was difficult to feel what the skis were doing. The 195cm GS ski actually felt the best! Stable under the foot and carved nicely as long as you kept over top of the skis.

It's a nice day here today! Sunny and cool.

See you soon!

Tsubakuro update!

Hi all!!

First, Yesterday was a crazy day for weather! It rained in the morning, then we had sun, then cloud, snow, and at last cold wind in the evening. Today looks nice . Clear sky and cool. Should be a great day of free ski training!

I also checked Tsubakuro. The steep slope of 4,5,6 is covered with a great depth of snow. It needs more snow on the top traverse and the bottom flat. The temperatures look cold so they should be able to make enough snow for the weekend!

See you soon!

Good start to the season!!!

Hi all!

It was a great weekend! The group worked on getting lots of km on the snow working the basics. Smooth, quick balance changes from foot to foot at the right time, correct edging, upper lower body separation, and pole plants. NICE WORK guys and girls!

Arrived in Japan!

Hi all!

I arrived at Sugadaira 2 days ago. I was surprised to see there is not any natural snow, BUT Omatsu Yama has been able to make enough for the Family run on the flats! It looked very good and the guys that skied said it was better than Yuno Maru!

I look forward to skiing with the group tomorrow! The main focus will be on lots of turns! Along with working on some basic movements! Balance changes from foot to foot, edging, upper body and lower body separation, looking ahead and pole plants! See you soon!

Family skiing at Big White/ Ginger bread house decorating!

Hi all!

The last weekend before I leave Canada and go to Japan for the winter season! We spend as much time together as possible! We were able to spend more time at our local ski area, skiing and playing! It is also our family tradition to set up decorate and nibble on a ginger bread house.

I see many of you have been skiing already. That's great ! Keep drilling in good basic movements and positions so when the pressure is on in a race it all comes naturally!

See you soon!
